The herbs are gentle and safe for children from 24 months and older.

This tea is safe and suitable during pregnancy.

It contains 100% Australian Certified Organic:

Fennel (Foeniculum vulgare) - this gentle expectorant is considered helpful for reducing 'snot', bronchitis, asthma and coughs.

Ivy Leaf (Hedera helix) - considered to have decongestant properties and helpful for addressing inflammation of the bronchial airways.

Liquorice Root (Glycyrrhiza glabra) - this expectorant and demulcent herb also has antitussive properties to help asthma, bronchitis and coughs.

Marshmallow Root (Althaea officinalis) - the mucilage in this demulcent herb is excellent for soothing irritated mucous membranes and makes this herb helpful for asthma, bronchitis and coughs.

Mullein (Vecurbasm thapsus) - a wonderful tonic herb for the lungs, with expectorant and demulcent actions, this herb has traditionally been used for bronchitis, coughs, chesty coughs and the common cold.

Wild Cherry Bark (Prunus serotina) - this antitussive herb (antitussive literally means 'stops coughs') is also a calming mild sedative to help settle children when they are distressed by a bothersome cough. Traditionally, it's considered helpful for coughs, the common cold, bronchitis and whopping cough.

Violet Leaf (Viola odorata) - the expectorant properties of this herb make it easier to cough up the phlegm and the demulcent properties soothe the irritated mucous membranes to help settle the coughing. This herb is considered helpful for coughs, bronchitis, asthma, runny nose and the common cold.

  1. The ONLY thing that worked!
    By on September 20, 2024

Early this year I got sick around 8 weeks postpartum. The cold itself wasn’t bad, but I was left with a chronic dry cough that would send me into spasms. I tried everything from herbal tonics made up from a naturopath, to chemist bought cough syrups, vitamin c (any and all vitamins) even garlic and honey concoctions. Nothing worked. I had to go on antibiotics (which I haven’t been on since I was a kid!) because it just wouldn’t shift and because of all the coughing I ended up with a mild prolapse. So I had to shift the cough asap. Unfortunately the antibiotics didn’t shift it either and I was about to go on another round when a friend told me about Blissful Herbs for the Elderberry Syrup for my daughter. While I was on the website, I happened to find the Calm a Cough Tea and thought I’d give it a go. I cannot explain the immediate relief I felt taking this tea. The dry cough immediately shifted and I think it was gone in under 3 days! This tea honestly saved me! I am so so grateful!

  2. Worked Well

Tastes good and so helpful. Both husband and I were sick following toddler's cold. This calmed the coughing down so we could sleep. On the worst nights had a cup brewed in a travel mug next to the bed. Woke up coughing, had a drink and back to sleep rather than losing heaps of sleep to coughing.

After 3 weeks of lingering cough after a cold, after I tried many things, daily mega vit C, reishi, zinc, lots of garlic, garlic salve, lots of chamomile, ginger tea, cinnamon tea, zeolite....etc., finally this tea arrived, recommended by friend. After taking 3 cups in one day and inhaling steam for 10 minutes (pot of boiling water, teaspoon of this tea, garlic, lemon peel, lemon juice and rosemary), my cough was gone, my airways clear completely. My chest feels so light, I am so relieved. I will recommend this tea to all my near and dear. Thank you for what you do, I am so happy to support small local businesses of this kind. <3

  4. little guy likes it

This is my favourite tea for when 'baby bear' Sam doesn't feel well. He hates cough medicine but will accept this (sweetened with manuka honey). It settles him right down, he stops coughing and we all get some sleep.
