This delicious herbal tea is a nourishing blend of carminative and spasmolytic herbs for the mother to drink so that the benefits may reach the baby via breastmilk, to help ease wind and colic in breastfed babies.
A small amount of the dilute, cooled tea, can be given directly to the baby via a small teaspoon, after feeding.
The Colic-ease tea contains:
Caraway (Carum carvi) – an aromatic herb associated with increase in milk supply, with carminative and spasmolytic properties which reduce wind, intestinal spasm and colic.
Chamomile (Matricaria recutita) - an anti-spasm and calming carminative herb, helpful for colic and gastro0intestinal inflammation. Some individuals are allergic to Chamomile, which is part of the daisy family, so please advise in Comments at check out if you need your tea to contain no Chamomile.
Dill (Anethum graveolens) – an aromatic digestive with carminative and anti-spasmodic properties to soothe intestinal spasm.
Fennel (Foeniculum vulgare) – a galactogogue which promotes the milk ejection reflex (let down) and provides anti-colic benefits for the baby through the mother’s milk.
Peppermint (Mentha x piperita) – a stomachic, carminative and spasmolytic herb with essential oils that reach the baby via breastmilk. Note: the mints may reduce milk supply in susceptible women.
Vervain (Verbena officinalis) – a calming herb which nourishes the nervous system, enhances milk supply and has spasmolytic properties to soothe colic.
