The GD Pregnancy Tea contains:
Astragalus (Astragalus membranaceus) - a 2009 study showed that Astragalus improved blood sugar levels and lipid levels in the blood.
Cinnamon (Cinnamomum cassia) - with antidiabetic actions, this herb helps lower blood sugar levels.
Nettle (Urtica dioica) - rich in vitamins and minerals, including Iron, Calcium and Vitamin K. Combats anaemia and helps relieve muscle spasm and leg cramps.
Oatstraw (Avena sativa) - boosts energy, soothes the nervous system and moderates blood sugar levels.
Red Raspberry Leaf (Rubus iaeus) - A uterine tonic, rich in nutrients, which nourish the female reproductive system. Supports, tightens and tones the muscles and ligaments of the uterus. Red Raspberry Leaf is believed to support effective contractions and reduces haemorrhage. It also helps to lower high blood sugar levels.
Siberian Ginseng (Eleutherococcus senticosus) - this adaptogenic herb helps lower blood sugar levels, boosts immunity and relieves supports ability to cope with stress.
Stevia (Stevia rebaudiana) - sweet and nutritious, rich in nutrients, helps balance blood glucose levels.
How to use the tea:
Place 1 teaspoon (5g approximately) of herbs, per cup of tea you'd like to make, into a tea pot (an old jam jar works perfectly).
Pour on approximately 150 ml hot water, just off the boil, per cup of tea.
Cover and steep for 10 minutes.
Pour through a strainer into your chosen drinking receptacle.
You can add a twist of lemon or lime, or a dab of natural sweetener like honey or agauave, if you like.
Enjoy your tea hot, warm or over ice.
Drink 2-4 cups daily as you please.
