The PIH Support Tea contains:
Astragalus membranaceous - with cardiotonic and hypotensive actions, this adaptogen herb support the immune system and lifts energy levels as well as promoting heart health and moderating blood pressure.
Crampbark (Viburnum opulus) – with hypotensive, sedative and anti-spasmodic actions, helpful for hypertension and calming for stress.
Hawthorn (Crataegus monogyna) – with cardiotonic and hypotensive actions, also anti-oxidant and periperhal dilating actions. Helpful for soothing anxiety and stress and addressing hypertension.
Lemon Balm (Melissa officinalis) – a balancing, calming herb which reduces spasm and has mild sedative action to reduce anxiety and stress which may contribute to PIH.
Oatstraw (Avena sativa) – a nervine tonic and anxiolytic, helpful for anxiety and insomnia, also has hypotensive action to reduce blood pressure.
Passionflower (Passiflora incarnate) – a calming herb to soothe stress and reduce hypertension.
Raspberry Leaf (Rubus idaeus) – tones & nourishes the uterus, rich in calcium, iron and vitamins, a tonic for pregnancy and for preparation for childbirth. Take this herb away from mineral supplements.
Skullcap (Scutellaria lateriflora) – another calming herb, helpful for addressing stress, fatigue and high blood pressure.
How to use the tea:
Place 1 teaspoon (5g approximately) of herbs, per cup of tea you'd like to make, into a tea pot (an old jam jar works perfectly).
Pour on approximately 150 ml hot water, just off the boil, per cup of tea.
Cover and steep for 10 minutes.
Pour through a strainer into your chosen drinking receptacle.
Add a twist of lemon or lime, or a dab of natural sweetener like honey or agauave, if you like.
Enjoy your tea hot, warm or over ice.
Drink 3-4 cups daily.
